About Microphones5>
Microphones are made for specific usages. Some are made for recording, others for performing, others for film/video. There's no such thing as one mic that works well for all three applications. Make sure when you choose a microphone you choose the right one for the task.
There are two main kinds of microphone.
1. Dynamic
2. Condenser
Let's talk about them.

Let's talk about them.
Dynamic Microphones
- These are most often hand held microphones for performance.
- They may be wired or wireless.
- They do not require Phantom Power (+48v)
- They plug directly into a sound system or mixer via an XLR or 6.5mm Jack plug.

Condenser Microphones
- These are most often used for recording.
- They might be studio mic's or shotgun mics (for video)
- They can be wired or wireless. Most prefer cabled for the sake of reliability.
- They plug in via XLR, USB or 3.5mm Jack (Aux)
- When plugged into a sound system, mixer, or speaker they DO require Phantom Power (+48) as provided on most sound cards and mixing desks.
- If plugging directly into a computer via USB or Aux then they are powered by the computer and don't require Phantom Power (+48v)
- NOTE: Make sure volumes are turned down and the mic is plugged in BEFORE turning Phantom Power (+48v) on to avoid spiking the microphone.

About Bluetooth Microphones
Unfortunately bluetooth is not a fast enough protocol yet to be considered reliable for microphones. Although there are some cheap gimmick based microphones available there is a delay to speaker and the signal is unreliable. Just yet they cannot be taken seriously at a useful level. However because of market expectation manufacturers are working on it.
Recording to Phone
Recording to phone is possible today although extremely limited compared to computer based recording. Adapters can be purchased to plug a condenser microphone into a phone. (We do not stock them unfortunately.)
The best interface for phones is probably the IK Multimedia iRig. These are far more reliable than the basic cable adapters and much higher quality.
